How do I complete an Audit Batch?

Everything you need to know about audit batches: how to do them and why they're important.

Any time inventory changes are made due to order fulfillment, receiving a purchase order (P/O), or processing a return, completing every step in the set process will result in the adjusted inventory syncing to ERP automatically. However, if inventory adjustments are made in WMS manually, there is an additional step that must be taken to complete the process. That step is to run and close an audit. Thankfully, the process is very quick and painless.

Before we start: Why is this important?

To maintain a rigorously organized inventory, there must be a system of checks and balances in place between teams. The intended use case would be for a user to make an inventory adjustment, tell their manager, and have their manager conduct and close the audit. Best practice would be for the person doing the audit to not be the one who adjusted the inventory in the first place - although nothing is keeping that from happening.

Could this be automated? Yes, but we choose not to so the user doesn't lose oversight or control of their inventory.

This should be done a) after every manual inventory adjustment completed in WMS, b) after every location count that results in an inventory adjustment, and/or c) at the end of every day, depending on what works best for the user and their team.

In WMS, go to Inventory > Audit Batch

Click Search and you will see a list of all manual inventory adjustments that have not yet been audited. Please note that the default is to have the date parameters set to contain the last month. Please adjust the start date if you think there are open items from earlier than one month ago. Don't forget to click OK when you're done with your adjustment.

Select the ones you want to close or click the checkbox at the top of the column to select all. Click Close Audit.

Click Ok.

Now, the inventory adjustments will sync from WMS to ERP for those selected lines.
