How do I create an RMA from an invoice?

Here’s how to quickly generate a return (RMA) directly from a posted invoice in ERP.

If a customer is returning one or more items from an invoice, you can easily create a linked RMA from within ERP. You can do this from scratch or directly from the invoice.

Note: If the return is not linked to a specific invoice, you can create it from WMS and bypass the ERP creation altogether.

Create an RMA from an invoice

  • In ERP, navigate to Sales > Invoice Processing.

  • Locate the invoice associated with the items being returned. Search by the invoice number/customer or use the filter tools. Click Apply.

  • Click on the invoice.

  • Go to Action > Create RMA.

This will open a new Return (RMA) screen with the invoice details already populated. Each line item from the invoice will appear as an eligible return item.

  • Enter the quantity being returned in the Claim column.
  • Click Save.

  • Click Yes.

You can now process the return as needed—receiving it in WMS and closing it in ERP.
