Here are instructions for how to fulfill an order for a consignment customer.
Part 1 Finding Your New Warehouse Transfer (ERP)
First, you need to create a consignment order. Next, in ERP, go to Sales Order > Consignment Order Management.
Click Apply.
Click the order you wish to fulfill. In the Consignment Order Management page, go to the Activity Tab. Click on the link under the Number column of the Warehouse Transfer row.
This takes us to the Warehouse Transfer page. You will see that the transfer type is in transit and is headed to the customer's warehouse (WHSE #). Copy the Batch # highlighted in the image below.
Note: Consignment customers get their own unique virtual warehouse. The name of this warehouse typically is the Customer #. Because some of the items will come back to you (unless all of them are sold), this is treated in the system as a transfer of items between warehouses.
Part 2 Fulfilling the Transfer (WMS)
Now, move over to WMS. Go to Warehouse Transfer > List. Use the search function to locate your warehouse transfer - or click Search to load all transfers. Click Detail to see the order details.
From this point, you have two options: Fulfill this as a normal order or just mark the order shipped.
Fulfill the Transfer as a Typical Order
Go to this guide, scroll down to Fulfilling an Order, and follow the instructions through "You can also export your shipping label and/or packing slip to a PDF." Once you have done that, come back to this guide.
Mark the Order as Shipped
Go to Sales Order > Shipments and paste your Batch # in the Channel Order ID field. Click Search.
Click the gear icon under the Action header > Mark Shipped & Cancel & Hold.
Under the Mark Shipped tab, fill out the required fields and click Mark Shipped.
Click Yes.
After doing either option:
To complete this warehouse transfer in WMS, back on the list screen, click Complete (if it has not automatically updated yet).
Click Complete Transfer.
Click Yes.
Part 3 Confirming the Transfer has Shipped (ERP)
Navigate back to the Warehouse Transfer in ERP (doing this via the associated consignment sales order's Activity tab will be the easiest way to do this). You will see now that the Shipped column has been populated.
Part 4 Marking the Transfer Received (ERP)
Unless your consignment partner uses DigitBridge, the system will not automatically know when they have received the order. Luckily, you can do this really quickly.
After you confirm your consignment partner has received the items, find the Warehouse transfer again. Switch to Edit Mode.
Enter the correct quantities in the Received Qty column.
Click Receive.
Caution: It's inadvisable to complete this step before the customer confirms receipt of their order.
Click Yes.
Now, your items have been sent (or "transferred") to your consignment customer, who has confirmed receipt of these items.
Now, on the Consignment Order Management screen under the Activity tab, you will see the Status has updated to Received. Reload the page if it has not changed yet.
