How do I fulfill e-commerce orders from my own warehouse?

Here is a workflow for handling in-house fulfillment of orders from connected sales channels

Workflow: E-commerce order fulfilled from in-house warehouse only

This workflow applies when all items in the order are stocked in your own warehouse, with no dropship vendors involved. The order was placed via a connected sales channel (not manual entry).

1. Order is received from sales channel

  • Order enters the system automatically

  • Items in the order are linked to your own warehouse inventory

  • Dropship vendors may or may not be associated with these SKUs, but if there is inventory in your warehouse, it will pull from there as the default.

2. Review and approve the sales order

Depending on your preferences, orders could come in either as Pending or Ready to Ship. The steps vary depending on which status it is (it will be very clear which is which).

  • Go to ERP > Sales > S/O Management.

  • Use the sort and filter tools to locate the order.

  • Click Apply to show search results.

  • If the order is in a status of Ready to Ship already, click to skip ahead. If it is in a status of Pending, go into Edit mode, and adjust the status to Ready to Ship.
  • Click Save.

  • Click Yes.

The step below is for a Ready to Ship status - click here to skip it.

  • If the order is already in a Ready to Ship status, click Actions > Create Pick Ticket.

  • Click Yes.

If you click the Reload button and check out the Activity tab, you'll see that this order has a new related record in the form of a Fulfillment.

Note: This step, clicking Reload, is not necessary (just informative).

3. Create a Purchase Order (if applicable)

4. Fulfill the order in WMS

Once the order is shipped in WMS, an invoice will be created automatically, and the order will be marked Shipped in ERP.
