Here's a guide to conduct a search for Styles, Substyles, and individual items in the PIM and Commerce Central Modules.
There are two places to conduct product searches in PIM, and they look the same. One is Product Information. The other is Content Resources.
The default display level is by Product (or individual SKU), but you can also elect to display by Style Master, Substyle, or All.
Click the magnifying glass icon to see everything.
There are ways to narrow down your search. To start, click the dropdown arrow next to SKU Contains. This will give several search by parameters.
- Style Code Equals: Search for products with an exact match to the specified Style Code.
- Style Code Contains: Find products where the Style Code contains specified characters, allowing for partial matches.
- Style Code List: Enable users to search for multiple products by providing a list of specific Style Codes.
- SKU Equals: Search for products with an exact match to the specified SKU (Stock Keeping Unit).
- SKU Contains: Find products where the SKU contains the entered characters, allowing for partial matches.
- SKU List: Enable users to search for multiple products by providing a list of specific SKUs.
- Substyle Code Equals: Search for products with an exact match to the specified Sub-Style code.
- Substyle Code Contains: Find products where the Sub-Style code contains the entered characters, allowing for partial matches.
- Substyle Code List: Enable users to search for multiple products by providing a list of specific Sub-Style codes.
- UPC Equals: Search for products with an exact match to the specified Universal Product Code (UPC).
- UPC List: Enable users to search for multiple products by providing a list of specific UPCs.
These options offer users flexibility and granularity when searching for products, making it easier to locate specific items based on different criteria within the Style Code, Substyle Code, SKU, or UPC.
Clicking on the empty field next to "SKU Contains" will trigger a dropdown dialog box, offering users additional options to search for products. This expanded dialog box provides users with the ability to search products not only by style code but also by various criteria such as Title, Exclude Status, Sales Channel, Brand, and Sorting options, enhancing the search functionality and allowing for more specific and refined product queries:
Title: Enter the full or partial description of the Title of the product.
Exclude Status: "Inactive" has been selected by default. However, you can remove the default option by clicking on the "X" and choosing other Status options.
Or directly choose other Status options from the list to add to the existing searching criteria:
Sales Channel: This is a very efficient option for users to choose a single channel or multiple channels to work on.
Brand: Select from existing Brand(s) in the system to narrow down the search results:
Display By: This option allows users to choose which section(s) or group(s) to display on the page:
Sort By:
This function enables the returned data to be sorted based on the option chosen by users: SKU Ascending, SKU Descending, or Last Update Descending:
Here is how the applied filters appear once you execute a search.
