How do I turn on email notifications for 3PL order and inventory updates?
Here’s a guide for enabling automatic email alerts for key 3PL transactions, including inventory receipts, shipments, and invoice creation.
Note: This guide is for 3PL providers (as opposed to operators who use a 3PL solution).
🔔 What are email notifications for?
DigitBridge lets 3PL Providers send automated emails to their clients for critical fulfillment events. This ensures your clients are always informed—without requiring manual communication.
Notifications include:
-
Inventory received
-
Orders shipped
-
Invoices generated
These emails can include tracking numbers, item lists, quantities, and links to downloadable PDFs.
✅ Step-by-Step: Enabling Email Notifications
-
Go to System Settings
In ERP, navigate to:
Admin Tools → System Settings → System Parameter Setup -
Select the 3PL Tab
On the left-hand side, click 3PL to open the 3PL system settings. -
Locate the Email Notification Toggle
Look for:
Enable Email Notification for 3PL ClientThis setting allows the system to send auto-generated emails when specific 3PL-related events occur.
-
Toggle On
Switch it ON, then click Save in the top right corner.
Click Yes when prompted. -
Log Out and Log Back In
You’ll be asked to log out so the new setting can apply.
✉️ What types of emails will now be sent?
Once this is enabled, the system will automatically send emails to your 3PL clients for:
Event | Email Content |
---|---|
Inventory Receipt | Lists of received items, SKU details, and receiving date |
Shipment | Tracking numbers, carrier info, ship date, downloadable shipment PDF |
Invoice Creation | Invoice total, reference number, and PDF attachment |
⚠️ Tips & Notes
❗ The client email address must be correctly registered in CRM → Customers → Contact Info for emails to be sent successfully.
🔐 These emails are system-generated and cannot be manually customized, but your team can also send additional updates from within DigitBridge manually if needed.
📎 Not all actions trigger emails by default—ensure the related module (e.g., Inbound, Outbound, Billing) has completed the transaction fully before expecting an email.
