How do I use the Inventory Log?

Everything you need to know about what the Inventory Log is in ERP and how to use it.

If you find any irregularities in your inventory or if some quantities don't look the way you expect, the best way to troubleshoot is to use the Inventory Log.

Tip: Before submitting a service request, try troubleshooting in the log. Chances are, you'll find an answer to your question!

The Inventory Log displays any transaction that updates the in-stock quantity of any item or product (as long as it's not a non-inventory item). To view it, from ERP go to Inventory > Inventory Log.

You can click Apply to see all transactions or use the search by function to choose how you'd like to structure your search - then click Apply

Tip: For companies with multiple warehouses and many SKUs, it is recommended that you strategically filter the Inventory Log.

Specifically, it is recommended that you filter by warehouse when looking at a SKU's history.

For example, let's say you want to see the inventory history for a specific SKU. Type in the SKU, click Apply, and you will see all logged transactions of inventory changes for that SKU across all warehouses.

Caution: There is a default date range in More Filter. Make sure you adjust the range accordingly so you don't miss out on relevant search results.

  • Date
    • Time-stamp of the transaction. The default is most recent first, going back from there.
  • Deleted
    • If there is a record that was deleted, it will appear on the log as it's still part of the history. This column will indicate if the record was deleted or not.
  • WHSE #
    • The warehouse connected to the transaction.
  • Beginning Stock
    • In Stock qty before the transaction has taken place.
  • Qty
    • The quantity of that item within the transaction (+/-)
  • Ending Stock
    • In Stock qty after the transaction has been completed.
  • Current Stock
    • How much do you currently, physically have of each item in each warehouse today.
      • If your results are filtered to a single warehouse, this number will be the same all the way down.
  • Log #
    • A link to the record containing the transaction. If it's a shipment, it will have the shipment #. If it's a P/O Receive, it will have the P/O Receive #. Clicking on that link will take you directly to that record.
