How do I use the Qty Overwrite Rule?

IN PROGRESS why someone would use this

Normally, inventory quantity is managed by percentage per channel, either based on sales or on the entire inventory. EXPLAIN / LINK TO QTY OVERWRITE ARTICLE

The Qty Overwrite gives you another tool to set up rules at the SKU level for different channels.

To create a Rule, click on Click Here. A pop-up window will appear for users to select the Channel Account and Rule name from the dropdown list. After making the selection, the information for the rule will be displayed as well:

This is third level of inventory control. First level of Inventory Control is "Channel Specific Inventory" where inventory quantity is calculated and allocated based on sales performance across all channels. Second level of Inventory Control is "Commerce Central Inventory Rules" where inventory quantity is purely assigned based on percentage of actual available inventory in stock. Third level of inventory control is to overwrite the inventory quantity that was set up either using "Channel Specific Inventory" or by "CC Inventory Rules". The first two levels of control are on Channel level which means the rules will apply to all SKUs in a Channel. The third level is set to single SKU level. For example, SKU1 has 100 in stock in ERP, In Macy's, all products were set up using 40% of total quantity. So in Macy's, SKU1 will have 40 to sell. But if I set up this Qty Overwrite rule with the Channel Macy's for SKU1 called "Feed 10", the actual quantity of SKU1 in Macy's will be overwritten to 10 instead of 40.

We will set up a link to explain it in Settings=>Inventory=>Qty Overwrite Rule

In the PIM module, go to Settings > Inventory > Qty Overwrite Rule on the left-hand menu bar. This will show you all existing rules. Let's take the rule named 'Load 15 Pieces' as an example. This rule applies 15 pieces to a selected SKU in the 'Macy's Marketplace' channel. It will overwrite the existing quantity of that particular SKU with the quantity specified in the rule.

Click Add New Rule.

Enter the Rule Name, select the Channel Account you want to associate it with, determine the Rule Type (Absolute Value (1), At Least (2), or Lower to Zero (3)).
