Here is an explanation and guide for the Parent Company field in customer management.
Many users of DigitBridge may have various customers owned by the same company. Having the ability to group by this parent company in reporting can come in handy, which is where the Parent Company field comes into play.
Create Parent Company Codes
The first thing you will need to do will be to input the Parent Company name(s) you will need. Go to Admin Tools > System Settings > System Code Entry.
Under Code Name, scroll down to the very bottom and click on Parent Company. A blank row will be present - enter the company name in the line. Click Add Line and add as many as you need. Click Save.
Click Yes.
Note: Best practice here (and any time you add or change system codes) would be to log out and log back in. This will ensure that your new or adjusted code will be useable.
Assigning a Parent Company to a Customer Profile
First, you will need to create a customer or have a customer in mind you want to edit in this way. Either way, navigate to the customer management screen by going to CRM > Customers.
Find the customer you want to edit and click on it (or stay on the management screen if you've just created a new customer). Make sure you are in Edit mode.
In the General section, click Show More.
In the Parent Company field, select the proper code from the dropdown.
Click Save.
Click Yes.
Sorting & Filtering by Parent Company

In the Customer List, hover over one of the columns and click the three horizontal lines to see a dropdown list. Hover over Columns to see all column options. Select Parent Company.
Then you can sort by that column by clicking Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.
This will show your results in your desired view.
Filtering
In the Customer List, click More Filter. Scroll down to Parent Company and select your desired company or companies from the dropdown. Click Apply.
Your results will now only show those customers under that Parent Company.
