What is a Custom Business Type?
Learn how Business Types can help you segment and manage customers more effectively.
A Custom Business Type in DigitBridge is a flexible label you can create and assign to any customer profile. Unlike fixed Customer Types, Business Types are completely user-defined and can be tailored to fit your company’s internal strategies or reporting needs.
Here are some common ways Business Types are used:
-
Pricing Tiers: Assign special discount structures or markups to specific business types.
-
Sales Segmentation: Filter reports or set quotas by customer groups like "Key Accounts", "Emerging Brands", or "Distributors".
-
Operational Flags: Use types like "On Credit Hold" or "Test Account" to signal specific workflows or constraints.
You can create as many Business Types as you need—whatever helps you better understand, manage, and serve your customer base.
Note: Business Types are optional but highly recommended if you need more granular control over your customer segmentation or pricing logic.
