How do I create a Product Style?

Here you will learn how to create a product style from within the ERP module.

Adding a new product should always take place in the ERP module.

When you want to add a new product, you’ll go to the left-hand menu bar and click Inventory > Create Products. If you want to create a non-inventory product (e.g., a supply or service), you will not do that here. Learn how to do this in this user guide.

There are three different ways to create a product: Add Style Master / Children, Add Product SKUs, and Add Prepack SKUs. We'll tackle Add Style Master / Children in this article. Click that option, then click Next at the bottom right of the page.

Create Style Info

  • Add Setting will be prepopulated with settings determined during your onboarding (e.g., color pattern code, size code, etc.). Your default will be selected.
  • Style will be whatever code you want to associate with the item for future searches. E.g., WKC24.
  • Product Name is the internal name of the product. E.g., Waffle Knit Cardigan.
  • Product Description is the name of the product that the customers are going to see. E.g., Waffle Knit Cardigan.
  • Class will also be prepopulated with options determined during your onboarding. Select whichever one applies. E.g., WOMEN.
  • Click Next.

Caution: There are certain characters that will not be accepted in a Style code:

? | % | , | & | = | ' | " | \ | leading space | multiple continuous spaces

Best practice is to only use letters and numbers in Style codes. However, there are some characters that you can use.

Characters that will be accepted:

- | _ | $ | # | @ | !

Input Sub-Style Info

  • Color Pattern is where you select what colors this item will come in. These options are entered during onboarding and will show up as a drop-down. If you need to enter in a new color pattern, don’t worry – you’ll have opportunities to do that a bit later on.
  • Substyle Format is a preview of how that item will appear going forward. E.g., {StyleCode}-{ColorPatternCode}.
  • Click Next.

Select Attributes

  • SKU Format shows the predetermined format of your SKUs. Your new product will have a SKU that looks like the one you entered during onboarding. E.g., {StyleCode}-{ColorPatternCode}-{SizeCode}.
  • Size is where you will determine what sizes your item will come in. These are attributes that were added during onboarding. Select all that apply.
  • Color Pattern will be pre-filled with the code for each color you selected on the previous screen.
  • Click Next.

Edit/Review

Here you can make sure everything looks the way you want it to before moving on by clicking next.

Generate SKUs

Once you’re certain everything looks right, you can go ahead and click Generate. Once you’ve done that, the SKUs, Sub-Styles, and Style in the first three columns become clickable and your item has been successfully added. Clicking on the SKU will take you to the Inventory Management page for that item.

After clicking Generate:

Tip: We HIGHLY recommend that immediately following the creation of a new style the user clicks on the Style link to begin entering product information. How do I use the Style Master?
